The hype surrounding AI's impact on design overshadows a more urgent reflection on what design must contribute to AI.
This lecture explores how organisations, business – and designers – can leverage design for AI in strategic ways to expand the value equation for the benefit of all, therefore increasing market differentiation and competitive advantage.
The translation of ethical principles into practical actions for the development and deployment of AI systems, also known as the Operationalisation of AI Ethics, is critical to embed human authenticity at the core of AI-enabled products and services. More recently he's been delving in the areas of AI ethics operationalisation and AI governance, and actively contributes to the field through research and practice, including the design and delivery of AI strategy workshops.
Giulio's career journey has included leadership in product, service, customer and campaign experience initiatives, ranging from boutique projects to multinational programmes. He's had the privilege of working with organisations like the United Nations Environment Programme, Guardian News and Media, Accenture Song, the Italian Coalition for Civil Liberties and Rights, Human Rights Watch, among others. His client portfolio includes names like Merck, GSK, Grant Thornton, Nesta Foundation, Virgin Unite, Urban Innovation Foundation and the Computing Technology Industry Association.
